How to find a hub on the network if you don't know where it is?
The last system administrator installed a hub somewhere and connected a couple of computers there. But I didn't find it. How to find it?

Watch the number of MAC addresses on the switches. In theory, on 1 port 1 MAC - the port where the hub hangs on the port there will be several MAC addresses
The active hub must have power. Usually sockets are not hidden.
But there are also passive splitters, so you definitely can’t find it.
Please re-lay. Then you might find the loss.
Do you have access to other hubs? Find out which well-known port the "hidden" hub is connected to (even if just by pulling out the wires). and then the target will be somewhere between this port and computers (literally, geographically). Well, at least it will be one more end for which you can pull or walk from it with a device.
If just tugging on the cable doesn't work, a hidden wire finder can help. Track from the computer where this cable goes.
And it costs a penny, compared to a device that determines the length of the cable ...
we have this. the hub is installed in a box in one place ... as suggested above, look next to these PCs for a power cable that goes into the box. or open boxes. probably not otherwise.
