How to figure out why MySQL is slow?

There is a dedicated server with installed KVM. In the created virtual machine, a script is launched that works with the mysql database. As a result, it works for a very long time.
The same script is launched on a regular hosting for 150 rubles. The speed of the script is 100 times faster.
What's wrong?

use mysqltuner.pl, neo ;)
at least with this script you can get general information about the state of MySQL.
