Every time I stumble upon the same rake.

WP in the theme settings offers to upload an image for favicon with a recommended size of 512x512, I upload favicon.png 512x512, but neither Yasha nor the site analyzer ever sees it (Google sees, I see ...), but the Webmaster constantly gives out that the favicon is not found.

How to create an icon for a site on WP so that Yandex can see it?

Try to install the plugin for the favicon and stick the favicon through it, it helped me

WP offers to load 512x512, crops and outputs 32x32, 180x180, 192x192, 270x270 by default. Perhaps you are looking at the wrong paths and, perhaps, they are not displayed for you.
To collect the favicon, Yandex has a separate robot, and according to some users, this robot visits sites once every 1-3 months
Personally, I have never had problems updating content , including favicons in search engines, if you send a sitemap to webmaster and search-console
