How to extend south swing panel (BorderLayout.SOUTH)?

Hello.
I make a Swing window with a table (BorderLayout.CENTER), a strip with buttons on top (BorderLayout.NORTH),
a strip with buttons below (BorderLayout.SOUTH). The problem is that there are a lot of buttons below and they are placed in one
line and do not fit in the window.
Question - how to make buttons in two lines in the bottom panel?
