How to enable external monitor (VGA, Fn+F4) on Samsung NC110?

Good afternoon!
Not so long ago I bought a Samsung NP-NC110-P04RU netbook . I installed Ubuntu 12.04, since it is very inconvenient to work from under native Windows 7 Starter. It was possible to adjust almost everything (screen resolution, Fn key), except for the external monitor. When connecting different monitors to the VGA connector, some write that the frequency / resolution is invalid, others do not react at all. Ubuntu does not see the external monitor. The key combination for switching to an external monitor Fn + F4, as far as I understand, is not involved in samsung-tools.
I would be extremely grateful if someone could tell me how to get an external monitor to work with this netbook.
