How to enable display of special characters on google keyboard?

The latest updates to the standard keyboard in android from google have simplified everything that was possible. Including the display of three dots on the buttons where additional characters can be entered in the character layout, for example, different currency signs can be found only after a long press on $, and the button does not visually differ from buttons without additional characters.
Question: is it possible to return the difference between such buttons in the settings / script?
