How to effectively develop serverless applications?

Greetings!
Can you please tell me how to increase the speed of application development using cloud solutions?
The essence of the problem is that deploying an application to the cloud and then checking it on the loop is not very comfortable and fast. I tried sls invoke local - the solution is not very convenient. With testing, not everything is clear. I considered options for localstack, sls offline and so on, but still it's not as convenient as a classic stack with a local environment.
Debugging subscriptions in appsync (aws) is not very productive.
