How to edit library code in Android Studio?

There is a project with an already connected library, which lies in a folder next to the project and is connected as a module in the project settings and registered in Gradle.
Editing the code of this library and rebuilding the project does nothing.
The feeling that it is pulled from maven or somewhere else.
How to make it boot from disk?
