Can you please tell me how to do a wordpress mailing list after a certain period of time? Let's say I want users to receive email messages with news announcements every day. How can I do this using php without using plugins?

generally phpmailer + cron/triggers
but immediately look towards smtp services and their APIs: mailchimp, unisender, mandrillapp
