How to do full text search with partitioning in MS SQL?

There is a task to fasten full-text search to the table in MS SQL. But in 2008 the server does not have the ability to disable partitions when a full-text index is created. Is it possible to somehow get around this without recreating the directory, or maybe some new features have been added in recent versions of the server?
