How to display only English table entries?

The table has many entries in both Russian and English.
Can you please tell me how to display records that contain only English characters in the description field?
Something didn't work for me using: SIMILAR TO. Displays or not all, or with Russian text.

If you need a case-insensitive search:
select * from table where description ~* '[a-z]'
