How to display a satellite image on a map in a web browser?
I can't deal with this issue at all. There is a Leaflet that renders the map background.
It is necessary to select a zone and in the specified zone display a satellite image that falls into it. Just like a picture. The image is geo-referenced accordingly.
Ideally, you can set some parameters of the snapshot. date, type, etc.
Do I need a wms service for this or can it be done somehow easier? If so, how?
Need some leaflet plugin?
My data is already georeferenced. The task is to understand how to display images from the file system in the right place on the map.

If you have small previews this should help: leafletjs.com/reference.html#imageoverlay
In order to add a layer of satellite images to the map:
- There are plugins: https://github.com/shramov/leaflet-plugins/tree/ma...
- You can also register on https://mapbox.com and use them satellite imagery layer: https://www.mapbox.com/studio/styles/mapbox/satell...
