How to display a git branch in Vscode?

I decided to start using the GIT version control system. created an account on github. Created a new repository. I downloaded desktop github and cloned the repository on my computer. Download VScode to edit the code. All commits work, I decided to create a new branch, created a new branch in desktop github, went to VScode, but I can’t see which branch I’m in there. On the Internet, people in the same situation at the bottom left say what kind of branch, for some reason I don’t have this.

Maybe git remote needs to be specified in VSCode?
