How to disable target="_blank" links on websites? (for Google Chrome)?

Very annoying when a link opens in a new tab without my asking. Is there a way to truncate all target="_blanks"? Desirable solution for Google Chrome.

There seems to be an extension for chrome, but
Death To _blank did not check its performance

On the contrary, it annoys me when the link opens in the same window.
That is, I'm not going to leave the site yet, I just want to open the link. Pressing the back button all the time is not an option.
