How to disable indexing of all posts in a category?

Good!
I have a category on my site, where there are a couple of dozen pages, with the following URLs:
- site.ru/cat/new1
- site.ru/cat/new2
- site.ru/cat/new3, etc...
How to close all such pages from the index through robots.txt ?
PS: Now I use the rule:
Disallow: /cat/
But for some reason, Yandex still loaded the page data. Did I spell the lock in robots incorrectly or is everything correct?
