How to disable graphical shell on Ubuntu Desktop 16.04.1?

But nothing happened. Versions no higher than 11 were discussed there.
The /etc/init/lightdm.conf file is available. And there everything is spelled out exactly as it was said in one of the above topics. However, editing the file according to the instructions does not lead to anything :(

"disable graphical shell" sounds vague.
If you want ubuntu to start without X, just change runlevel to 3
sudo systemctl enable multi-user.target
sudo systemctl set-default multi-user.target
