How to direct all traffic from a virtual machine through vpn?

How to direct all traffic of a virtual machine (for example, running on VMWare Workstation Player) through vpn, but without installing anything on the "virtual machine", but setting up only the host machine?

In any case, you need to install a vpn client that will connect to the server. In your case, on the host machine. I understand the host is Windows?

you will have to install it on a virtual machine + set up a disconnect when the VPN breaks, it’s
better to use Linux, because the Windows disconnect FSUs, it will continue on a normal network

I haven’t come across the Workstation line for a long time, so I won’t give a ready-made recipe. But, if I were you, I would dig into virtual networking.
The basic idea is that the VPN client on the host machine forms a network interface. I would try to bridge the virtual interface of the guest machine and vpn. You have given little information about the initial conditions. In particular about the type of intended VPN. Let's say it will be OpenVPN. Not sure if Workstation Player will work easily with tun/tap interfaces. Perhaps not. In this case, I would look for a way to connect two interfaces by combining them into one vlan.
This option fully satisfies your requirement.
