How to deploy printers to client PCs via GPO?
There is a printer, samsung ml-1250, it is connected to a PC on freeBSD. The PC has CUPS installed which acts as a print server. Printers are connected from client PCs (windows 7/8.1) if you specify the address ip_print-servera:631/printers/pinter_name. Everything prints fine, but there are a lot of client PCs, and it takes a long time to connect each handle. Accordingly, there is a domain controller on Windows Server 2012, all client PCs in the domain. The domain controller cannot deploy the printer, in events error: "User preference item ' 192.168.0.83:631/printers/s1 ' in GPO 'PrintServer {7EF00FE3-2250-4A57-850E-E86D3AFD363F}'" is not applied for a reason error code '0x80070709 The printer name is incorrect.' This bug has been disabled."
But printers attached to Windows deploy fine using an address like: "\\print_server_win\printername"
How to GPO a printer connected to a freeBSD print server on client PCs to deploy?
PS I suspect the fact that windows on client PCs does not automatically pull the driver.
