How to delete a large number of pages so that positions do not fall?

There is an internet service. It contains a large number of pages with the words ''botox", ''botox'', ''hookah'', ''hookah''. For this reason, Google AdWords blocks ads.
Manually removing these words from the pages is time / labor intensive. I think delete all these pages because the information on them is out of date. How much can this affect the position (especially in Google search results)? What should be taken into account to determine the risks?

Google lowers positions if a lot of pages have been deleted on the site, but they still remain in the very issue. That is, it punishes when pages are deleted but does not warn Google about it.
If removed URLs are entered in Google Webmaster Tools in "Remove URLs", then there will be no downgrading of positions.

I agree with NichitencoEvgh. It is better to delete through Webmaster. But before deleting, look at the positions of these pages and search traffic. Maybe these pages are in the top and collect good traffic for other queries? Then it is better to manually edit.
