How to deal with logging in (Debian Squeeze) after a crash?

Oh, Red-eyed Gurus, save! I moved to Linux not so long ago. In the last few days I have installed and removed a lot of packages. Perhaps something needed hooked. Turned on the car today. She showed me the welcome screen. I entered my username and password. Then calmed down and booted into recovery mode. There, on the command line, I entered "journalctl -xb". I looked at the log. There, a substring was highlighted in red, associated with a problem when trying to load plymouth. I checked - plymouth was not in the system. Installed. This substring is gone. The boot behavior of the machine has not changed. Save! Where else to look? What other buttons to press? Maybe put a candle for the health of Torvalds? Generally,

You can boot from SysRescCD, mount disks and see in the logs what exactly does not start.
