How to cross existing programmable IR remote and nettop with Linux-XBMC?

There is a programmable IR remote control that controls the entire media system, except for the computer. There is a fairly large list of devices supported by this remote . There is a nettop Acer Aspire R3700 . On board gentoo with XBMC. In addition, there are fairly straight hands that can hold a soldering iron, rich programming experience in C / C ++, very poor knowledge of LIRC .
I really want to control XBMC from the same remote. There is no way to spend a lot of time gaining broad expertise in IR. Poke your nose - what to read minimally, what to buy ...

Buy a ready-made remote control from the Chinese for 5 bucks (only the receiver will be used), reprogram your own (although it should already have 100% support for this consumer goods), rejoice.
