How to crop an image from FSH?

Goodnight! Tell. How to crop an image from FSH? For example, there is a block in FS 500x500, and the picture in it, for example, is 1500x1500. And she's kind of shifted. Those. out of 1500x1500, only 500x500 is displayed. So. How can I make it up? Because if you immediately select this area of 500x500 from this picture, which is 1500x1500, then it is cut off and when you insert it, the quality worsens at a time, which is expected. Is it possible to somehow set the scope of this image?

State? Show me the layout or something ...
Maybe you meant that a mask was applied to the picture (on the same layer where the picture is, there is a mask rectangle to the right of it) or a clipping mask was created, the layer is shifted to the right and there is a down arrow to the left of the layer?
Do you need to get the whole picture (i.e. 1500 by 1500)?
Where are you trying to paste that the quality is getting worse?

Usually I select the necessary layers with graphics --> make them smart objects --> open this smart object in a new tab --> if everything is fine, then I save it, if not, then I cut off the unnecessary.

1. Create a new document with dimensions of 4000x4000 or more. As it suits you best.
2. Place your layer in this document
3. At this stage, there are two ways:
a) If you have a .png picture, then click on the image -> trim (I don’t know how trim will be in the Russian version of
Photoshop
) you .jpg then you do the same thing, only the second checkbox you choose which is below "Transparent Pixels". In English it will be top left pixel color
