There is nothing to describe here, the whole point is in the title. I don't even know how launchers work.

And actually everything is written in
%APPDATA%\.minecraft\versions\version\version.json
Download somewhere all the dependencies, native, and the actual game directories (assets)
then register javaw directories of natives, dependencies, the folder with assets and the number of assets and end with the username and specify the boot class. Which is also registered in this json.
