How to create White Label applications on the site?

Hello.
The task is this: to make it so that my website (site.ru) opens on the client subdomain (wl.client.ru)
To do this, I did the following: I created the wl.client.ru subdomain and registered the wl entry in the client.ru DNS zone .client.ru CNAME site.ru.
In principle, it works, but crookedly. A site opens at wl.client.ru, but not the one you need. On the server I have four sites on the same IP and it’s not site.ru that is loaded, but let’s say site-first.ru
Please tell me what’s wrong.
PS I understand that on the server you can set the site I need as default and everything will load as it should, but if in the future I need to do a similar fu-l for another site on the same IP, the same problem will arise.

Register an additional server name in the nginx configuration or whatever you have as a frontend.
