How to create lines between DIV blocks?

Good afternoon! I want to create a tree of life website. But I can't figure out how to draw lines between DIV blocks. He showed red lines on the pictures. Can you advise what is the best way to do this? Maybe someone already had experience in layout of such blocks with lines?
