How to create an application for / to a site using PhoneGap?

Mobile development

We have a WordPress site with a responsive design, suitable for all mobile devices.
Please help me how to set up in PhoneGap so that when you open the application there is a redirect to the site. I want to make the simplest application as a browser only to open one site.
Tried making an iframe, didn't work.
If there are file caching functions or saving css and js directly on the device itself (for fast page loading) - please share this as well.
