How to create an 8-bit game (Like minecraft)?

I want to develop an 8-bit multiplayer shooter.
I studied C# at my school. Familiar with OOP, computer network theory and the basics of vyshmat.
What other skills will I need? Which engine to choose and how to write on it? Where can I get (download, buy) graphics and sounds?
