How to create a push-pull machine for parsing?

Hello.
Can you post examples or links on how expression parsing works with a pushdown automaton?
As I understand it, this is LR(1) grammar the same?
I just don’t understand why the store is needed here, and how to properly describe the state table - well, there is “state-top of the store-input symbol -> new state”
