How to create a material design date field?

Trying to get comfortable with material design. For normal fields I use com.rengwuxian.materialedittext.MaterialEditText.
The question is the easiest way to make a style for the date picker field, as in the picture

P.S.
Also, I will not refuse links to good material on custom styling of controls, everything is very confusing in android at first glance.

In my opinion, the right decision was to use a button with its own background (drawable ).
