How to create a bootable hdd with kali linux?
How to burn a Kali Linux Live CD to an external hdd so that you can then boot from any PC or laptop. Of course, a usb flash drive is better for these purposes, but there is no flash drive, but there is an external hdd for 500 GB. I tried to record via a virtual machine according to the instructions https://codeby.net/bezopasnost/kak-ustanovit-kali-... , but after installation I got an error Fatal: Could not read from the boot medium! System halted. I also tried to record via win32diskmanager , rufus , linuxlive usb creator , nothing worked.

Have you tried rolling out an iso image to an external hard drive with something like UltraISO? The procedure is the same as when writing to a USB flash drive: bootable (bootable) - write disk image (write image) - select an external hard drive. Instead of an external hard drive, you get one large flash drive with a Kali Live CD.
