How to count traffic in SSH session?

There is a Linux server with SSH access, there is a windows machine with putty that connects to this Linux server and uses it as a SOCKS proxy (everything is set up like this ).

The question is how to find out (calculate) the number of received / sent bytes within the current SSH session between the client and the server (total SSH traffic).

The calculation is interesting from the client side, and not to fool around with setting up iptables rules on the linux side.

In general, they write that this thing can count both traffic by application and hosts: found here .

From what I remember, I can say that Kaspersky had a built-in network monitor that showed traffic by process. So here.
And of course, there is wireshark, which will select a session for you and tell you everything about it.

Create an allow rule in iptables on the router, under which ssh traffic will fall. Consumption to look in iptables counters.
