How to correctly request the date from the user in DialogFragment?

Tell me how to make it so that the user selects a date in an open dialog?
I thought through the DatePickerDialog, but something tells me that this is a bad idea.
The DialogFragment is opened to create a new item in the list.
Simplicity and convenience from the user's point of view is required.
