How to copy MongoDB DB?
I must say right away that in the database I am at the level of knowledge from the college. fox pro. None, in short.
There is a website and an admin panel that work with MongoDB via the REST API (if I understand the purpose of the REST API correctly, in principle, but not the point). Both the site and the admin panel write and read something, it all lies on the same server.
And there is a local monga meant for testing. She lagged behind the worker by ... a lot. Even for several collections. I want not to add new objects manually, but to copy the entire database from the server. Smart people talk about backup.
Can you advise what?
1) The process of creating a backup should not stop the operation of the database on the server.
2) Do I understand correctly that backup only copies data? That is, I will need to create a new database and upload the backup data there?
3) I have a really bad idea how exactly this is done. If anyone has guides / tutorials / anything detailed, I will be very grateful. I didn't find much on the net
