How to convert pivot table to formulas?

I have a pivot table created from a power pivot data model. When you select the convert to formulas command in olap tools, a warning appears with the text "Fields in the value area do not allow conversion to formulas because they are defined in excel and not on the server or service"

What could be causing the error?
