How to convert images to WebP?

WordPress installed on VPS: VestaCP + NGINX. You need a plugin that converts all images to webp. Installed WebP Express, but it refuses to work on NGINX, even with all the settings that I made to the server according to numerous messages on the forums. Tell me, what could be the matter or, perhaps, is there another plugin that performs the same tasks?
We need a plugin that can convert all images already uploaded to the site, but not replace the originals, but substitute them on the fly (or cache them) so that nothing gets spoiled in case of deactivation.
