How to control animation playback on a site built in Adobe Animate CC?

Hello, I can't find something in Google, so I need help.
Actually the essence of the question is as follows, the designer made the animation in adobe animate cc and threw off the archive, which already has all the codes embedded in html. Everything is fine, it is imported to the site, but this animation needs to be played on certain events, for example: when a popup window opens and animation occurs in it. And also when hovering over a block. Perhaps there are some methods for controlling animation through js?
Found the function fnStartAnimation(); which starts the animation, but it doesn't work with the click event, not with setTimeout
