How to connect your font with fontello via npm for a sass/gulp project?

There is a fontello.com/ service.
There you can assemble your own font from a large pile of your vector svg icons.
The only instruction https://github.com/railslove/fontello_rails_converter to connect this font in the case of a project on sass/gulp is slurred. I would like to connect via npm, but the sequence of actions is not clear.
If anyone has done or have thoughts, please share.

Grunt and Gulp come with different plugins. Here's what I found:
https://github.com/fireball-x/gulp-fontello-import
https://github.com/gillbeits/gulp-fontello
In general, it's recommended to embed icons via SVG so they won't blur.
