How to connect with an FTP client to an SFTP server?
In general, the task is this. There is a program that can connect to the server only via FTP using a login and password. It does not know how to work with SFTP. And there is a server to which you can only connect via SFTP using a login and an ssh-rsa key. At the same time, there is no way to "teach" the program to work with SFTP, nor to get access to the server via FTP. How can you "friend" them?
PS I mean some kind of software for "vendu" to make an FTP - SFTP tunnel. The task of the program is to simply upload some reports to the server at certain moments. There would be root access to the server - I would just raise FTP on it.

You can't connect to an SFTP server with an FTP client.
But here you need to look at what kind of server can forward the port via SSH and connect simply via FTP.
I think it's worth trying with stunnel or putty.
