Perhaps you will advise using something else instead of MAX3421ee, I looked at the documentation for ch376 did not work.

I personally haven't had any problems with this.
I used ElecFreaks USB Host Shield on MAX3421PE chip.
I uploaded the sketch and saw how it all works. Everything works great.
Only there is no practical application - it makes no sense to connect USB devices to the Arduino. Unless you suddenly want to turn some USB joystick into a MIDI controller, for example.
