How to connect to the router knowing only the MAC address?
Good day to all.
Now in the hands of such a Chinese KingType EOC Modem .
On the sticker of the device itself, there is only a MAC address. The laptop assigns it an IP din of 169.254.200.83 and does not allow it to connect.
The router has its own personal IP and there is no way to find out.
Wool Internet on the topic Find out IP by MAC address and nothing helped. I mean cmd requests like arp.
I did not find anything in Wireshark with a MAC filter either. (Or rather, I did not understand how to search there)
In theory, communication with such a device should be implemented via Telnet ...
Tell me, how to be?
UPD: Obtaining an IP is automatic and does not give a result. Standard addresses 192.168.0.1, 0.50, 1.1, 3.1 did not help.
So far, all that I have found on it myself is that you may need software from the manufacturer that will automatically see the device. Or know the IP and tame the ego through Telnet.
UPD 2: The issue has been resolved. It all ended with the fact that I found a contract for the provision of Internet services.
In which the PPPoE access data (login and password) is registered, the MAC address was already known.
The device is closed from a possible connection from the outside by ordinary users. The router communicates with it and receives the Internet from it only knowing MAC & PPPoE data. And only through pre-configured LAN ports.
Many thanks to everyone for participating! =))) All the best.

Reset the settings (6 seconds reset button), write static on the laptop 192.168.1.2/24 and connect to 192.168.1.1 password admin / admin
First of all, try to connect via Wi-Fi. Then try to connect about. Next, check the standard addresses of the routers. As a last resort, run a network scanner. Well, if all else fails, then you can use the secret technique of the village of hidden China and read the instructions.
connect the device and the computer with a LAN cable, on the computer near the network adapter, set the address manually to 192.168.1.3, open an Internet browser, enter the address //192.168.1.1 in the address bar, enter admin admin in the window that opens
the simplest thing is to find the instruction and read in it how the initial setup is performed. if the equipment is provided by the provider, it makes sense to contact its technical support.
