How to connect PHP to nginx?

Which version of PHP (Non Thread Safe or Thread Safe)? Or maybe some modules need to be installed?

The inability to google will kill you. For nginx - Non Thread Safe, because for each request a new php worker is raised, which do not interact with each other.

The easiest option is via fpm.

Usual. nginx + fpm google.
ZTS is a bunch of crap. If you don't have a task that can't be solved without multithreading - just do it. If there is - better think about a language where this is thought out from the box and has been working for a long time, such as Java / Kotlin.
