How to connect free hosting with a domain name?

Good day.
I have been tinkering with this problem for an hour, and therefore I would like to ask the experts if it is possible to connect free hosting with a paid domain .
I bought a domain on namecheap, changed nameservers, and 404 from github still hangs in place of the domain. (I bought the domain with github student developer pack )
Bytehost support is silent. With other hosting - the result is the same.
Tell me what could be wrong, just don’t send it to Google and dance with a tambourine - I already did this.

How much time has passed? Changing DNS sometimes takes up to 72 hours. Maybe everything is in order, you just need to wait.

In such cases, you can try to flush the DNS cache on your computer (for Windows, ipconfig /flushdns)
In any case, your hosting is already opening for this domain, so everything was done correctly.
