How to connect disk with files to ESXi virtual machine via sata?

Software: ESXi 6.7

I am trying to connect a local HDD (sata) with files to a virtual machine using the following instructions:

When adding a disk, the following error occurs. What could be the problem?

As far as I know, in win10 (once in win7 I calmly connected a virtual machine), the system disk cannot be connected in this way, and if the disk is not in use, then you must first transfer it to the offline state (in the disk management snap-in, press the right button on the disk and select offline /offline)
ps It seems that when using qemu/kvm, you can emulate a disk by connecting only a physical partition, and save the simulated mbr and so on in a file.
