How to connect a router?

I recently bought a TP-link TL-WR841N router, there is a WAN port on the back, I don’t know how to connect a DSL Internet cable to it, is there any adapter or something like that? They write that you need to buy a modem, but is it possible to bypass it somehow?

if there is no DSL port - no adapter will help, you need the same modem, it will have a DSL port and LAN port (s), plug WAN into those ports

If you bought recently, as an option - exchange for a model with a DSL port.

How did you use the Internet before buying? After all, there had to be a modem, either your own or a provider's, so connect the router to the output of this modem, it will be your adapter from DSL to ETHERNET.
