How to configure local names for servers in VLAN?

I have a hypervisor running esxi, it runs one router virtual machine with an external ip address, and many virtual machines with internal ala 192.168. *
I would like my services to be available on local domains inside the local network (for example, db, storage, webserver, etc). And so that from any machine on the local network you can access it by a similar name (you won’t remember all the local addresses).
The idea comes to my mind perhaps with hosts, but it is stupid to keep such a list on each server - it will simply be impossible to maintain.
How else can this be done?
