I decided to raise my mail server, and when choosing a product, the choice fell on Zimbra, but there were difficulties with the DNS settings.
1. The Internet comes to the server running Kerio Control
2. There is DHCP, DNS, AD.
The essence of the problem is that I can’t understand whether I need to create a new zone with the real name of the purchased domain (gippo.kz) from the hosting or I can use the previously created zone called gippo.local for MX and A records.
Now I have configured Ubuntu Server 16.04 gave him the settings of the internal network with the ip address 192.168.1.15
Next, he set the name in hostname: mail
in hosts wrote this:
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.1.15 mail.gippo.local mail
Now there are settings left to register DNS - how to do it right?

If you need to advertise your hosts on the Internet, you need the kz zone admins to delegate control of the gippo.kz zone to you. then on your main dns server (which stores SOA) you can specify A records for your hosts, for example: deff.gippo.kz or test.gippo.kz. you can also specify an mx record for example mail.gippo.kz for the mail server. It will not be possible to announce the local zone in the Internet as it is a reserved local zone.
