How to compare the content of XML documents with the content of an Excel spreadsheet?
A small introduction: I work in QA, I don’t really screw up in programming and in advanced Excel, but it seems to me that I can solve the task described below with your help
Task:
I have an Excel table with a large number of template lines, the data from which is handled / check with the eyes of the data in the xml-files.
Actually, to automate work with this, I need to correlate the "id" field in the Excel file with the names of xml files and check the correspondence of values in other fields with xml
Other fields in the string are of two types - integer (you need to compare whether the integer value in the string Excel with the corresponding value in xml) and fixed text values (selected in dropdowns in Excel-e), which must also be compared with the value in the corresponding xml file
I would like to display the results of such comparisons for each string/xml-file pair in one way or another in a simple "matches / does not match" format.
Tell me, how can you perform such a task as simply and painlessly as possible?
