How to combine front-end and back-end?

Hello.
My friend and I are going to write a little musical social media. network for university on asp.net.
I am a front-end dev by profession, and he is such a mediocre back-end (c#, asp.net).
For example, I write the whole front, that is, the site itself, I will attach something in JS. He can make a player, authentication and something else on the dot net)).
The question is different - Is it possible to write everything separately in an asp.net project, and then glue it together? I wrote the front, he is back, we compliment all in one and voila apka)
Maybe I don’t imagine the process itself like that or xs.
