How to clear a Git repository from commits?

I deleted the github repository. But when I created it again, then all the old commits are again in it.
I need to remove all commits from another person (everything is possible), but keep the name of the repository. Is it possible?

The repository has a hidden .git folder
do

sudo rm .git
