How to clean up old graphical shells and move(s) to new ones?

Hello everyone, I'm on Debian Jessie, now the xfce4 graphical shell is installed, and I installed AWESOME WM on top, removing XFWM and I really liked this business, I want to leave AWM now.
The question is what is the right way for me to remove all unnecessary things related to xfce from the system, and whether it should be done at all. That is, what now replaces AWM from my system (essentially only a window manager, but things like xfdesktop are no longer needed either.
ps Probably even better advice on what is better and more convenient to use awm, and is there any difference between graphical shells if you put the question in this way

Of course there are - they look different :D They consist of a different number of different components that work differently at different speeds. Some have features that others don't, and so on.
You can bother with cleaning xfce in two cases:
- You know exactly what you are doing and you can restore the system if you demolish the wrong thing
- You have problems with disk space
xfce is not the shell that takes up a huge amount of space - this is not KDE and not gnome recent
